Hiya Guys and Gals

We are looking to roll out exchange 2003 after SP1 comes out to run on our non AD windows 2000 servers.

Our end users are currently using Outlook 98 as their email client.

Does anyone know if any of this causes any compatibility issues.

Cheers

Hi

As far as i know there shouldnt be an issue

Best way to test would be download the evaluation version, install it on a test machine a test a 98 client with it

Regards

Dave

Outlook 2k, 2k2, and 2k3 are considered compatible, 98 and older have only been tested for basic interoperability, so it will probably work but not as well as the later versions.

Just for those who are interested, I've tested the required setup now,

Exchange 2003 will work with outlook 98 but it won't allow you to install exchange unless youu are running AD

How did you get it to work?
Here's my problem.
I still have my Outlook 98 users on Exchange 5.5 because, if I'm to move the mailboxes to Exchange 2003; Outlook 98 can't find, or resolve, the Exchange 2003 server name. Now, I'm able to ping and resolve the server's name from a command prompt with no problem though; it's Outlook 98 the one that can't resolve it. Users that were running Outlook 2002 had no problem so I was able to move those mailboxes from 5.5 to 2003.
Any suggestions? :)
