I migrated from Exchnage 5.5 to 2003. After following the instructions to reomve the last 5.5 server and change to native mode I am having connection problems with my exchnage 2003 server.

Every hour or so the exchage 2003 server fails to connect to the domain controller (also win2003). I get a netlogon event error.

I have run policytest and it is OK. I have used KB314294 to make sure that the server exchaneg server is listed in the exchange server group and checked the Manage Auditing and Security log.

This is causing me to reboot my exchange server every hour or so!!!

Why doesn't my domain controller verify my exchange server?

Thanks,

Bernie

I am planning on removing my Exchange 5.5 server from my site on Friday... Now I am getting a little concerned... Could you let me know if you find a response to this?

well i think u need to re-install the netlogon service iam not very sure but this might be helpful

I got it fixed.

I changed a lot of things to get it to work so I can't pin-point the exact fix.

I think the primary problem was the Exchange Enterprise Servers group may not have been set up in the Manage Auditing and Security log right (KB314294). This, and some DNS configuration issues.

I think what was happeinging was that the exchaneg server would poll the LDAP server every hour or so. This would trigger a NETLOGON event, which would fail because it couldn't get a response because of the DNS and/or security rights issue.

Other than this one issue, my NT4/Exchange 5.5 to Win2003/Exchange2003 migration went very well.
