I checked my physical ram, i have 3.5gigs, i have the swithc in my boot.ini.
\WINDOWS="Windows Server 2003, Standard" /fastdetect /3GB /Userva=3030 /NoExecute=OptOut
I got an warning using the analyzer that my page file is incorrect.
it is set to min 4096 max 4096.
What should i have this set to?
its recomedning 5374 but i can change it to that high, max seem to be 4096...any ideas please

Depending where you read it is 1x RAM, 1.5x RAM or 1.5x RAM plus 70MB.

Set it to the recommended size and all should be well.

Thanks for the link
i know the initial size should be x1.5 and max should be 3times. but since i have 3.5G does that mean my settings are correct?

Well in theory, a 32 bit OS can only see 4GB so your PF should be 512MB maximum...set it to what is recommended as 3.5GB means you aren't going to page much anyway.

I'm not sure about that. I've read that the pagefile should never be smaller than the RAM, but maybe I'm missing something.

I still dont get it...i cant set it to recommended becasue max memory size is 4096, 3500 X 1.5 = 5250...which is more than the size i can set it to...so the setting i have set it to should be correct? intial 4096 max 4096??
