Ok I have a big problem , I have been trying to troubleshoot this all weekend. I have an exchange 2k3 server standard edition. I have checked the combined database size and its around 13 gb(priv1.etb is 9 gb and priv1.stm is 3.7)so that rules out lock out because of overgrowth past 16 gb. I have performed a offline defrag regardless just to make sure, and checked to make sure both my databses are mounted. STILL my users can get to there mailboxes but no messages have been sent or recieved since Friday... any ideas please??? at this point i am burnt and have had like maybe 4 hours of sleep total in the past 2 days. please help

Have you checked the Queues? I'm guessing you have a lot of messages backlogged there.

Try restarting both the SMTP Virtual Server and the Windows SMTP Service.

In the past I have had to configure DNS servers in the Outgoing SMTP properties of the Virtual Server to resolve this issue.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
