Have three people using the Redirector (Verizon Wireless Service) to access their Exchange 2003 mail boxes. Our IT security settings were "tweaked" after a Symantec Anti-Virus upgrade to version 9.0 and I've got sync issues I can't resolve.

One of the users seems OK but the other two are finding that when they delete emails from their Blackberry's and then sync and reconcile the deleted emails are still showing in their email (forcing them to go back over emails they had already sorted through once before).

I suspect the issue is in our Exchange Server settings but I haven't been able to come up with any differences when comparing everything from profiles to desktop Redirector settings.

Any help greatly appreciated!!

It could also be that the Intellisync PIM settings (under Advanced Settings using the Configure button) have their conflict resolution set so that the desktop mailbox wins, and that the wireless reconcile does not have a chance to work before the unit is cradled.

Have you tried forcing the wireless reconciliation from the handheld?

You just need to delete a message, bring up the command menu and select Reconcile Now right below Options.

Yes, we tried several times with a Bberry tech on the line. The tech was the one who suggested checking on the latest updates to our server, etc.

Another clue may be that all the users have "new" (purchased in the last year) Windows XP desktops. I know Microsoft recently deployed a new SP so I'm wondering if it's not a setting, etc. that we've overlooked from either the server or the desktop side? XP has so many new security settings and we're not getting any error messages, it's more like the server is just ignoring any requests from the desktop/Redirector when synced.

I'm purely an applications person who does "small" pc fixes before we call in our IT contractors. They have been working on this for about a month and still no progress...

Thanks!

Service Pack 2 for WinXP just came out as a Release to Manufacturer (RTM) these last days, so that's not the issue here, I don't think.

Things to look into or try:
- Windows Firewall settings -just in case.
- Using the "uncheck all PIM options, unload BDM, start BDM, check off all PIM options again, sync" trick.
- Blasting the Intellisync folder contents entirely.

Thank you! I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes...:)
