Hi all! I'm adding an Exchange 2003 server into my existing 5.5 site...I have ran all the steps in the exdeploy and so far everything has passed and I am at the point where I am about to run forestprep and domainprep....

Should this be done after hours or is it something that can be run during the day and will cause no problems with the existing 5.5 site?

Thanks!

Always best to wait and do it out of hours.

Not a difficult job to do but should anything go wrong it could cause a pretty major screw up.

Best advice i can give you is if you have 2 DC's is to force a replication of AD and take 1 DC offline. Then proceed with Forest and Domain Prep. If things go wrong then perform an Authoritative restore from the offline DC.

It wont have any effect on your 5.5 site.

Good luck.
