I have Exchange 2003 enterprise running on Windows 2003 enterprise server. I'd installed Service Pack 2 for Exchange 2003 also. The users with mailboxes located in Exchange2003 can no longer receive emails with attachments from certain extensions (Especialy executables like .xml, .exe, .mdb, etc.) This is happening for both internal and external emails.

This sound like a filter issue but I have no idea where I coudl find this. I would like this feature to be disabled or reconfigured to accept everything for Exchange 2003 users. Can someone help me?

I don't recommend doing what you ask. Tell your users to send such attachments in ZIP files. Changing the default behavior opens you up to possible exploits.

If after considering that you just don't care and hope your network crashes, the company looses money and misses quarterly earnings sending the stock to plumet and all outstanding contracts to be revoked, followed by fire and brimstone falling from the sky....then follow this link:

I hope you find this post helpful.

Thanks for the link. I'd already seen this one a couple of days ago. I found another easier solution to the problem. All I did was created a registry string called Level1Remove and added all of the extensions that Level 1 blocked. Outlook users can now receive certain attachments.

In terms of SPAM and viruses, we always used a third party email filter that's been doing great for our Exchange 2000. Thank you for your concerns.
