I have a user who can see her personal contact list, as well as public contact lists, just fine.

However, when she attempts to send a new message and chooses "to", and then chooses "Contacts", no addresses appear.

Any ideas what can cause this phenomenon?

She is using Outlook 2000 w/ Exchange 2000.

Thanks.

Chris

In her Outlook, right click on her Contacts folder, select Properties/Outlook Address Book and make sure it's checked to show this folder as an email address.

It just means my answers are from experience, not a book.

Also, check to make sure which Contacts folder is being displayed. Go to Tools/Services/Addressing, at the bottom, highlight the Contacts folder and choose Properties and make sure it's using the Exchange Contacts list.

And is the right Contacts list being displayed? (My second post)

There's just two entries under the properties, not user modifiable..indicating it's in personal folders...

Am I looking in the right place?
Thanks again.

In the users Outlook, go to Tools/Services and then click on the Addressing tab. At the bottom, under "When sending mail, check names...", what is listed there?

Did you recently upgrade or change your Exchange server? We went through this after our new Exchange server was in place. Some of the Outlook clients were pointing to the old server's Contacts folder.

In Control Panel -> Mail -> Outlook Address Book, go to properties and delete all references to "Contacts". Then go into Outlook, open the Folder List pane, right-click Contacts and select Properties. On the Outlook Address Book tab, check the box for "Show this folder as an Outlook Address Book". This should reset things. Hope this helps!
