Hi there, can anybody tell me how exchange licensing works. I am running 2 terminal servers and exchange 2000, I have purchased 60 licenses and only have 40 users but I keep getting errors saying that i dont have enough licenses. Is it anything to do with the users connecting to terminal services. Thanks in advance for any help received.

exchange 2000 license error

When you go into the licensing manager which clients are getting assigned the licenses? Are the same clients getting multiple logons, or are there other mailbox-enabled accounts that have been assigned the license and not released? If so, just revoke the licenses for the users that are no longer using the license. Hope this helps.
I was getting the same error messages with Exchange, in my case I had tried to license it in "per server" mode. It will only allow per seat licensing. I don't know if this has anything to do with your error messages.
