Exception Error in Me

Trying to locate what might be causing a repetitive exception error that occurs only when online using MS Internet 5.5 or 6. No specific program seems to trigger the problem.
error number is

oe0028c002cefa called from 0028C183781 ... this same response occurs on each occasion

Go to start, settings, control panel, add/remove programs, double click on IE 5.5
this will pop a menu for you to chose.
Chose repair and click ok.
One other question are you running IE 5.5 and IE6? Which one are you currently running?

Thanks...I tried the repair option but that has'nt helped.
Originally I was using 5.5 but upgraded to 6 to see if that would fix it.
Unfortunately, the error occurs on both versions
