Excel XP: date formatting doesn’t survive mail merge? 1

I tried printing labels, and one of the data items is a date. Although the dates were formatted to present as 2 Jan, Word [in its infinite wisdom] decided that I wanted to express it as 1/2/2003.

Words followed, many of which are actually in the Word spell checker.

Yet another reason to loath XP.

Try saving the Excel document as a CSV (Comma Seperated Values) file as I have got around this problem uing this method
