We have Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional set up as a pseudo-printer for our applications, like Excel, Word, etc. Generally, I have no problems with it but one Excel workbook got corrupted some way and I can't print out the entire workbook as pdf; I have to print each page individually then merge the pages. The workbook has 22 pages so this gets a bit tedious.

It used to print out the whole workbook as one pdf file but I once had to quit pringing in the middle of the conversion to pdf and it hasn't worked right since.

I do a File-Print in Excel, picking Adobe PDF as the printer, and click on the radio button to print the entire workbook. Only the first three pages come out as a pdf file. I've tried highlighting all the tabs and picking the print selected option; no good. I also tried printing a page range but it won't do that either.

I've also tried checking file properties, renaming the file, copying the file to a different directory under a different name and other ploys but the file remains cursed and won't print out except in bits and pieces.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try printing postscript by choosing postscript as your printer and adobe pdf as the ppd. After you've saved the .ps file try "Create new pdf from file" from acrobat file menu and pick the .ps file. If that doesn't work, there's something very stinky in the xls file.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Thanks for the suggestion. We don't have .ps as a printer option at this time; I'll have to ask my LAN guy if he can install it.

I discovered the problem. The print quality was set to 300 dpi for some pages and 600 dpi for others; not sure how that happened. When I made them all the same, the entire workbook printed out to Adobe without any problems.
