I have a user who whenever she goes into excel 2000- no matter if it is a previously created or brand new worksheet when she clicks on a cell with her mouse she cannot stop highlighting. Not only could I not stop highlighting, but I couldn't even click to exit and ended up 3 fingering saluting my way out.

Anyone else ever had this problem?

Thanks,
Lissa

I had a similar problem. The shift key was stuck, on. Try hitting it a few times or try swapping the keyboard.

I worked with the mouse and with the shift key- all of her other apps are fine.

Thanks for the suggestions though:)

I'm not sure what to try next.

unplug the mouse and plug it back again.

if that doesn't work re-install the mouse driver.

she rebooted and things are okay now- I just was hoping she wouldn't have to reboot- my users have something against rebooting.

LOL

Thanks for all of your help.
