Hi all:

Having a problem - want Excel to be able to look up a date and based on that date, return a specific value. If the criteria does not match, than formula should return "blank" or 0.

I tried using "vlookup" with "false" as the 4th arguement, however, keep getting "#value" when criteria does not match.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Sounds like the format of what you're looking up compared to your lookup range doesn't match.

Click on value you're looking up and tell us what's in the formula bar, and the exact formatting (format-cells) is applied to it.

Click on a value in that column of the lookup list us what's in the formula bar, and the exact formatting (format-cells) is applied to it.

Hi:

Thanks for the reply, however, in playing, I found my answer, I used a combination of the "if" and "iserr" formula in excel which solved my woes.

Thanks.
