Excel task pane

hello, I created a custom tool bar but now my task pane will not come up at start even though I have the check box for Startup Task Pane checked. I can go to the menu bar and start the task pane.

Suggestions?

Try and uncheck that option. Close all excel processes. Maybe reboot once and check the option again and see.

Did not think to reboot after the uncheck. I will give that a try when I get home. Thank you for the response.
