Excel Spreadhsheet - locked for editing, how to unlock

Hi,
A user was working on a spreadhsheet and lost there connection to the server. Now when he tries to open the file he gets a message to say that the spreadsheet is already opened, so he can open it in read only mode or be informed when the spreadsheet is available for editing.

Please can anyone tell me how to unlock the file?

Hi Gwen

If you open it as read-only, then save it locally as a normal file. Then delete the file on the server and re-save the file you saved locally onto the server.
