If I add a macro to a Sreadsheet, then clear the cell which launched it, then delete the macro itself from Tools/ macro, why do I still get "enable macro" warning whenever I re-open the spreadsheet ?

What do you mean when you say "delete the macro itself from Tools/ macro"? Have you gone into the VBE and removed the module concerned?

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.

Hi Glenn,
I cleared the cell where I had entered a button to run the macro and I went into tools/ macro/ macros and deleted the macro itself.
I now have no macros whatever showing in this place and nowhere in the spreadsheet which wants to run a macro, yet I still get the warning - which only began when I started the macro adding process.

The FAQs are always a good place to start:-

It says I have macros - BUT I DON'T!! - Why???

I repeat ... Have you gone into the VBE and removed the module concerned?

Remove any modules showing.

Cheers, Glenn.

Many many thanks ( have green'd Glenn )
Found the answer in FAQs. - Hard to follow or perform, but maybe that's down to me........

PANIC OVER.....

Just curious but what was confusing in the FAQ? I wrote it, so may be blinded somewhat and can't see what you are referring to, but by all means let me know if I could clarify part of it to help someone else in the future.

Regards

Hi Ken, many thanks for the interest and the FAQ.
I did the ALT+F11 thingy to open the VB editor, but could not find the "explorer style folder".
In the event, I opened things across the top ( I guess that shows you what you are dealing with ) till I got a screen which looked hopeful. I have just checked and it was View/ Project Explorer where I could see my report and it did have modules when expanded. I also had a few other entries in there for other applications with Excel interfaces.
I saw there were entries for my spreadsheet and removed "my" modules, but it wasnt very positive about me doing this nor happy about me not saving them.
Now I write this, it sounds as daft as I feel, but I wouldn't have been surprised if I had zapped something important belonging to my add-ins.
I hope this helps - you certainly helped me,
very best wishes,
Bill....

OK thanks. I just hadn't opened mine up and not seen it, so I guess I should cater for that as well.

Cheers
