Hi,

I have a huge excel spreadsheet (0ver 20000 rows, and 15 columns)

The spreadsheet contains a lot of information on part numbers, however it also lists all the component parts to particular parent part numbers.

Is it possible to filter/delete rows of information (short of highlighting it and doing it my self), so that I am only left with 1 row of parent part number information?

I hope this is clear. If you need any more information please let me know.

Thanks very much for your help.

How are you identifying the "parent" line as opposed to the "child" lines ??

what column is the unique ID in ?

Three things are certain. Death, taxes and lost data. DPlank is to blame

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

HI Geoff,

There is no unique ID.

Column 'A' list the parent item, for example for part number 1234. Column 'A' would have 20 rows of 1234 (Cells 'A1 to A20') and column 'B' would have different part numbers for these cells.

It is not important that I keep all of the column 'B' part numbers, I only need to keep 1 row of the 20.

I hope this is clear.

Thanks a lot for your help.
