Excel radio button survey scores

Hi,

I am having a problem in Excel. I have been asked to create a survey in Excel that we can mail to users. I would like to use 4 scored radio buttons with different score values.

The survey would look a little like this ("o" denotes an unselected radio button and "@" a clicked button)


Points 0 3 6 10


Question 1 o @ o o
Question 2 o o @ o
Question 3 @ o o o
Question 4 o o o @
Ext.

Total Score = 19 (3+6+0+10)

I am a pivot and formula man and am out of my depth on this. The truth is that I am the best at Excel we have!

Any help would be appreciated.

You can use excel forms controls ('Forms' toolbar). Use:
- option buttons as working controls,
- frames to group contros.
Use 'Linked cell' to store selected control and formulas to calculate result.
Combo boxes could be an alternative design.
Controls can accept ranges in other sheets if are passed by names.

Thank you for the help.

I have got the scoring to work on my check boxes by using the following format:

'Question4 - Option3
Range("M15").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "6" 'Score value.
Range("N15").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "0" 'N/A value.


I just have to last questions to complete the project

1: How can I make the boxes mutually exclusive?

And / or

2: How can I make the boxes only run the code on an active click (check present and not un-checking?)

Option Buttons are not Check Boxes.

Check Boxes are not designed to be mutually exclusive. Option Buttons ARE.

You originally referred to 'radio' buttons, which are Option Buttons.

So I'm confused!!!

I ended up using check boxes after listening to my team leader (not always the best idea). I think I may just put this down to a first draft and have another go next week.

I don’t really know what I am doing but am willing to have a go.

I have now recreated the questionnaire using radio buttons. I had a bit of a problem with the groupings but it is all working fine now.

I am reading this a little late, so this may be of no consequence.

I use radio buttons in my tests to give me the final score, [so I don't have to mark the test].

If interested, post again and I can upload it someplace in a couple of days.
