I have several number where I want to follow the number with an asterik or a symbol to callout a footnote. I know this can be done with text, but is there away to follow a number with a symbol without putting it in the next cell. That will not work in this case. I thought there must be an equation that allows you to follow a number with a symbol without making the cell text.

Any help is certainly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

This is kind of klunky, but realize that Excel is not a word processor.

Custom Number Format...

#,##0"*"
