Any ideas if there are limits to cell lengths in Excel pivot tables linking from an Access 2000 data source. If there is a limit, are there any ways of getting around this to pull in a lengthy memo field. Im using Excel 97 SR-2
marcoose: You probably haven't got any replies for the same reason I did not reply before. My first thought when I read your question is this:
Why would you want to see memo fields? The whole purpose of Pivot tables is to summarize data. Memo fields are detailed data. Also, any report you could get from a pivot table would probably be easier to report in Access.
Just by virtue of the purpose of pivot tables, I personally wouldn't even both trying to find a way. Just wanted to put this out there, marcoose. No offense or anything...
Fair enough - I agree but my resources/bosses/current situation and timescales mean that I can create a sales report with all forecast and actual data totalled up but in addition include a latest comment on a given account. I can use Excel to do this but you are right maybe I should just revert to Access reporting!
