I tried searching and using the FAQ's but was not able to find what I am looking for, I may be blind.

I have two macros I have created, one for a "Portrait Layout" the other for "Landscape". The macro enters some standard wording into the header and footer.

Now I saved them in a file called Personal.xls (personal Macro Workbook). However the only way I can get them to run on any file I open is when I have the personal.xls file open on start up, and I don't cloe it, then open the file I want to format.

Is there a way around this? If I just double click on an icon to open a file, the macros are not available.

I don't know VB, so I need the "dumb approach" :) thank you,

Hi,

Why would you not KEEP your PERSONAL.xls open at all times?

If you don't like seeing it every time you open Excel, you can go to Window > Hide.

When prompted on exiting Excel, save changes to Personal.xls.

Personal will continue to load every time you open Excel, but you won't see it.

Note that you will have to unhide the window before making changes to/recording any macros.
