Hi i have an excel document with 20 worksheets on it (for each computer at work). Each worksheet has 2 columns... Software & Version. In each column is a list of what software is installed on the pc along with the version number. I have a final worksheet which i want to count all the unique software and versions on all other worksheets.

Please can anyone help!!!

Kindest thanks,

SH

Hi,

You're shooting yourself in the foot, but chopping your valuable data up into 20 separarate locations.

ALL your data should be in ONE table (sheet). Then you would not need to ask this question.

Yeah i know - i just wanted to keep each computer seperate on its own tab.

Thanks will have a rethink!

The best thing you can do is restructure your data into a single sheet.

Just add a column for the computer identifier (serial number or employee name or whatever you are already using).

Your data should look like this:
[tt]
Computer Software Version
a Excel 10.0
a Word 9.5
b Excel 9.0
b Other 1.2
[/tt]

Then use a pivot table to get your counts.
