Excel sheet (Ver 10)
Add an import query from a MDB and save it.
It ends up in the C:\ . . . . \Queries folder.
Fine and it all works.

The spreadsheet is on a Novell server. The dqy file is on C: so if you log in from another workstation you cannot run the import query

How do you change where Excel looks for the query??

( The Edit | Links is greyed out ????)

Any help appreciated

Mike

Hey Mike,

Assuming that you are using the wizard, on the last step, click the save button and select the path where you want to save the .dqy file. I would use the absolute path (\\Servername\folder\etc...) in case the other workstations have different drive mapping.

If you want to change where an existing query is saved, right click in the data range that contains the query. Select Edit Query. If the query is uneditable by the wizard, in MSQuery, use File\Save As to save the query in the new location. Then return the data to Excel. otherwise see above for using the wizard.

Your worksheet should now reference the new .dqy file.

HTH,
Eric
