I am using conditional formatting i want zero to be one of the conditions. so that when the field has a zero entered then it turns the background red. the problem with this is that excel see an empty cell as zero and not NULL. Anyone got any idea's how to do this

cheers

Assume you are testing cell F10, add this to your conditional format :

Formula is ISBLANK(F10)

You may wish to switch around what happens to the cell when this is true.

I have had similar problem last month.

The solution that I used was put a formula in cell to evaluate a condition, like..:

=IF(condition;" ";0)

In that case, condition could be that you wont, (p.e. F10<>0 or other). When condition is OK, Excel put an " ",(blank, space or null, its the same), or in other case put a 0.

Is really effective.
