Hi, a little help with excel please.....

How can I calculate the values of certain range of cells dependant 2 different criteria?
eg
ColA ColB ColC
jan 1 a
jan 2 b
jan 3 c
jan 2 a
feb 3 b
feb 4 c
mar 1 a
mar 2 b
mar 3 c
mar 5 a

What's the total values in COLB when jan and 'a' are true. in this case it would be 3.

Which version of Excel are you using?

If you're using Excel 2003:

=SUMPRODUCT((($A$1:$A$10="jan")*($C$1:$C$10="a")),($B$1:$B$10))
[/tt]

If you're using Excel 2007 or later:
[tt]
=SUMIFS($B$1:$B$10,A1:A10,"jan",C1:C10,"a")
[/tt]
