Hello, using Excel/Word 2003 or 2007 I am trying to get 4 line graphs printed on one A4 page landscape within Excel with a small gap inbetween before the next graph. So I end up with 2 graphs across the page like 2 rows and 2 graphs down like 2 columns. (Total of 4 graphs on one page)

I have about 20 graphs and each graph is on its own worksheet all named at the bottom tabs and this all sits inside the one excel file. The graphs calculates fine and updates using another worksheet still in the same file.

I have to get the graphs to be as big as I can on one page of A4 so have reduced margins left, right, top, bottom to be the minimum.

Ideally I would like to be able to print in Excel and thought there would be an option like in Word where you can zoom pages to sheet and select 4. However I cannot get this working in Word anyway and cannot see an option to do this in Excel which is really what I would like to do as I am only making more work by putting into word anyway.

If I do use word to do this when I copy the spreadsheet and do paste special, then do paste link as Microsoft Office Excel Chart object even I use the zoon it comes up portrait even though I have selected page layout landscape and printer settings landscape. It also doesn't fill the entire page but just makes the graphs each about 4 cm x 4 across the page portrait with no gaps in.

Also if I copy a graph into Word that is displayed at 100% in excel it copies the same size. I have until now been manually coping and pasting the graph then resizing myself in word but have to make sure each graph is the same. The trouble is I am going to keep adding more graphs overtime so the less I have to do manually resizing the better, often I have to do print preview or pint the document out to see how each graph will look after I have resized as well.

Its all becoming a nightmare, there must be an easier way so I can bypass word and just do what I want to do in excel surely ?? Or is there anything I can download anywhere like an add in or tool that will do this already ? I've tried googling but seem to just go round in circles. Can anyone help me ?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

So you want to VIEW & PRINT 4 charts at a time.

Will it ALWAYS be the same 4 together or not?

Well I gotta leave, so let me give you my suggestion, based on the assumption that the 4 charts per sheet is static.

Open BLANK a Chart Sheet.

Go to your FIRST tab containing a chart. COPY the chart.

Go back to the Chart Sheet and PASTE the chart into the Chart Sheet. DRAG the chart to the position and size to suit.

Repeat for the next 3 charts, until you have your 4 charts in one Chart Sheet

Repeat this process for the remainder of charts.

Thanks SkipVought for your posts, I've tried your suggestion, the problem is I can only seem to get one chart appear in the chart sheet. If I try and paste other graphs into the chart sheet it says there is nothing to paste either though I have copied. My Graphs were actually pasted as worksheets rather than charts sheets, but I have now got these all as chart sheets about 20.

It looks like I can only have one graph per chart sheet. Have I missed something or am I just being completely thick!

Thank you

You PASTE the copied chart into the Chart Sheet.

Then you POSITION & SIZE the pasted chart to 1/4th the size of the Chart Sheet.

You COPY the second chart, Select the Chart Sheet CHART, not the pasted in chart but the Chart Sheet Chart Ares, and PASTE then next chart in; position & size.

I just performed this in 2007!

If you already have one chart to a page, can you just use your printer settings to ask for 4 pages per page?
