Hello - I am an Access programmer and a customer came to me wanting to put a spreadsheet into Access. It really should be a spreadsheet, they just want to use Access to supply pull down lists in Excel so they don't have to type so much.
I use Excel for pretty basic things, but I figured out how to add an external link to Access and how to create a pull-down list.
On my system, the thing works great. On my client's system, it freezes Excel - just the timer and finally have to kill it in task manager. There are no error messages.
I even tried redoing the query on their system and it still locked. I am using a copy of their data, so the size of the database should not be an issue. Could it be a problem of other users? Does it have to be a locked file for Excel to use it?
Thanks for any direction you can point me in. I know it's impossible to tell what's going on with no error. Is there anyway to turn on a verbose mode in Excel?
