im using a sumif formula, but how do i allow myself to have 2 sets of criteria in the formula......this is what i need my formula to do, but i get an error:

=SUMIF(SiteY!B2:B108,"30-35""26-30",SiteY!D2:D108)

in my spreadsheet i have an agegroup column and the choices in there are 26-30, 30-35, over 35 or under 26.

so can anyone help me figure out how to make a formula that will search for criteria of 26-30 age and 30-35 age

Hi,

Do you ACTUALLY have
[tt]
30-35
[/tt]
in a cell OR do you have numeric values?
[tt]
=SUMproduct((SiteY!B2:B108>=30)*(SiteY!B2:B108<35)*(SiteY!D2:D108))
[/tt]

search this forum for SUMPRODUCT - there are some very good threads - I think there is also an FAQ...

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

"...formula that will search for criteria of 26-30 age and 30-35 age"

can a row have 26 and 30? Hmmmmmmm???

you are looking for EITHER 30-35 OR 26-30.

Try using TWO SUMIFs, one for each criteria.
