We have some issues with a lot of our company's Excel spreadsheets. When we go to add borders to cells the default color is grey instead of black. It's that way for the entire workbook. So every time we want to add a black border, we have to select the cell, right click, format the cell, and manually change the border color to black. This seems to only happen with pre existing workbooks. I'm fairly positive that it doesn't have anything to do with versions.
Can anyone help?!

Go into Tools, Options, View tab. At the very bottom, you can spec out what the default color is...

carr, that is for the "gridlines" not the borders that you can add to a cell.

Yes it is for gridlines, but having changed the gridline colour, the default colour of borders applied will be the same. Try changing it to Blue or Red and see what happens.
