In column 'A' I have numbers 1-48.
Is there a way to reverse those number and put them into column 'B'?

Can I use the Paste Special?

Sopman

Do you really mean you have the numbers 1 to 48 in column A, or do you mean you have numbers in cells A1:A48? ( i.e. do you want a series 48 down to 1 in column B? )

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.

Hi,

Copy 'n' paste into column B (nuthin fancy)

Then sort COLUMN B ONLY, descending.

Macro record if you need to.

I have numbers in A1:48.
Sorry about that.

Did Skip's post answer your question? Or are the numbers not sequential?

Insert a column next to A and number 1 - 48. Copy both columns to C and D, then sort C and D descending. Now delete the two index columns.

No, Skip did not answer my question. Numbers in Column A are numbers like; 4.8812, 4.8832, etc... I can't sort.

It doesn't matter if they are integers or not - are they sequential?

The two you used for examples are sequential (second is bigger than the first).

If your data is not currently sorted in any order - why not? What purpose is served by having the data in a random order?

If the data is sorted on some other column, couldn't you just sort by column A descending, copy 'n' paste to another column, the resort all but the newly pasted column by column A ascending?

=INDEX($A$1:$A$48,49-ROW(A2))

and copy down

[Blue]Blue[/Blue] [Dragon]

If I wasn't Blue, I would just be a Dragon...

=INDEX($A$1:$A$48,49-ROW(A1))

I meant

[Blue]Blue[/Blue] [Dragon]

If I wasn't Blue, I would just be a Dragon...

Thanks Bluedragon2. That worked.
