Not sure if this will make sense, but here goes.
If I have a number of cells that require data, say G3,H3,I3 etc & I have a cell that has the number 3 (A3) in it, how can I add up the number of cells as long as they have data in them.
Say Cells G3 & H3 have data that would equal 2 cells, but this does not equal 3 as in cell A3. So J3 would still be blank, but if I3 is added this would equal 3 & J3 should now contain a tick.
Still not sure if this makes sense.

Should have mentioned, I do not want to use VB script as I would like it to stay compatible with OpenOffice Calc.

You could have a formula like this:

=IF(COUNT(G3:I3)=A3,CHAR(252),"")

and format the font as Wingdings.

Cheers, Glenn.

Hi Glenn,
Thanks for that I seem to have it working the way & want now, Just need to figure out the correct font for the OpenOffice side, but that is minor. The main thing is it works. Huge thanks.

My pleasure :-D
