Hello,

I have a master workbook that one the "control" sheet contains 4 buttons in the first row. These buttons are for the end user and perform processing on each of their distinct underlying sheets

One button is called Print Sheets that selects the 3 fixed data sheets (one at a time) and calls the PrintOut method. However, only on this method call, the buttons get all jumbled. In other words, 4 buttons veritcally across the first row become 4 buttons lying directly on top each other.

They are "locked" and set but still this happens and only on this one button click even. Code is simple. Select a sheet, printout, select next sheet, printout, select other sheet, printout. done.

Anyone see this behaviour before? Its Excel XP (2002). Thanks in advance

Jim

Hi Jim

I have had similar problems in Word and have failed to resolve them.

Instead of command buttons on the page I now usually implement a new menu instead.

Thanks, Mac. At least I know I am not crazy.

Anyway, previously it was an Excel 2000 workbook on a windows 2000 sp4 professional workstation. Now, its a new pc with Windows XP Pro and Excel 2002.

I wonder if it has to do with the upgrade - one of those minor nuisances. Is your situation similar?

Hi Jim

I think I was on Office 97/Windows 2000 Pro SP6 when I was getting my problem, which incidentally was the subject of my very first post on Tek-Tips. Although I'm on XP now, as I said, I have taken to using menus instead and simply avoid the issue.

What was happening to me was that on the first click, the button on the Word doc would work perfectly, but thereafter it would refuse to be clicked and would appear to go into design mode. On reopening the doc, the button would also mysteriously have moved across the page, as you describe in Excel.

Unusually, the Tek-Tippers were unable to solve the issue hence my head-in-the-sand routine.

Regards

Mac
