We have a spreadsheet that is being used by multiple parties (one user at a time) and sent via email to the next person in the "custody chain". It is important that the column widths stay the same during the entire process.

One user opens the file and finds that the column widths have changed (by .11 each time). For example, Column A should measure 30, B should measure 19. Upon opening the file, they have become 29.89 and 18.89 respectively.

This only occurs on her computer, but after she saves changes, they are reflected on other people's computers as well. Any idea on what could cause this type of behavior? Thanks in advance.

Also, it should be noted that for some reason the standard column width is 8.11 on her computer, 8.43 on the rest of the workstations. Is there a way to universally (not individual workbooks) change that value?

Did you check her Standard font and Size (Tools > Options... > General tab)? When I changed that on my system, it changed the default column width and height.
