When I attempt to copy a chart from Excel into Word or PowerPoint, parts of the chart disapear. The word on the x axis only display every other entry even though the graph itself shows everything. The quality of the image is also poor. How can I correct this?

Try Insert > Object, instead pasting.

Choose "create from file". A dialog box will come up; browse/navigate to the file's location. Select the file and click OK.
