I often plot data as distance from target so it can be positive or negative. Is there a way to make the X-axis labels be at the bottom of the graph or another position so the graph is readable?

I have done this the awkward way by removing the axis label, adding data labels using the XY Chart Labeler ( and moving them together to the bottom of the chart.
If I have a lot of data, I have to create another column labeling every fifth point or so so it is not too crowded.

Surely there is a better way!

Thanks for your suggestions.

Double click the axis and on the patterns tab set Tick Mark Labels to Low.
