Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knew of a quick way to sort columns in Excel.

I have column headings in row 1, and I want to sort the data in alphabetical order.

The long-winded way would be to copy, paste special values & transpose, then sort, then copy, paste special values transpose back again....but I'm sure that can't be only way!!

If anyone can help I would really appreciate it :)

Yes there is a button under the data tab that should do it...called A-Z sort (suprisingly enough)
also you can have it on the toolbar if you click on the little arrow and choose add remove buttons and pick sort ascending and sort descending

hope it helps

Thanks Carrr, I'm checking it out now.

Ramzi, I realise that sort was there, but it only sorts rows, not columns. Thank you anyway.

Ramzi, my apologies!

You can actually do it from there, by going into sort options & choosing sort from left to right!

oops!
