Hi All

I'm updating a ASP/VB6/SQL Server application. On the testserver I get an error when I try to create an excel file.

Automation error
The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect. Check the username and password.

Error number is: -2147467238

I have searched the web but can't find any relevant information.

The same code works fine on the development server and an older version (small code changes) is running perfect on the production server.

Anyone an idea?
Tnx
Roel

PS: The MTS user is the local administrator.

More info:

I have checked the eventlog and I get this error:

DCOM 10004

DCOM got error "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress. " and was unable to logon TEST-S001\Administrator in order to run the server:
{00020812-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

Any thoughts?
Roel

I think you dont have the right to create Excel Application object.
Try to place TEST-S001 user into Powerusers or Administrators group.

A colleage has removed the registry setting in:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT - AppID - {00020812...}

RunAs REG_SZ servername/Administrator

Now the error is gone!

ASP returns another error but I'll have to look into this before asking on the forum.
