I have an Excel File (tried CSV too!) that has a field which is a large text field. For some reason, Business Objects is chopping off after a certain number of characters....more in the CSV file than in the Excel file.

Has anyone else had this?!

Nige.

I believe there is a limit in Excel. Perhaps BO is simply doing exactly what Excel does.

No, it's fine in Excel but for some reason is not being brought in to Business Objects....strange! Also, the CSV file is not having a problem...perhaps if I try straight text file...

Any other ideas welcome!

Sorry, I had it backwards. I'd call support on this one. BO must only be able to import a limited number of characters. Have you counted the length of the string that BO imports. You can use the Length function.

Turns out it's a 5.1.6 bug....or so I am told. However, upgrading to 5.1.8 is not helping either...will log a support call and find out.

Thanks for your help.
