Excel 2007 - Gridline question

Have a rather large workbook that was given to me to work on. Am trying to set all sheets to be formatted the same. I find that the very light blue gridline is difficult to see sometimes. I found where you can change the color of the gridline which I do like. However not only does it change that but it also changes all of the borders on the sheet which I do not want changed and now cannot change back to black (unless I go back to the advanced options). Does anyone know how I can change ONLY the gridlines and not the borders? This would be on a Windows 7 machine using Excel 2007. Any help - much appreciated

Hi,

As far as I know, GRIDLINES cannot have a color property. Borders can.

You should only be formatting borders in the ranges where youo have data.

Please explain what advance option you are using.

Going to "Excel Options" then down to advanced. There is a place in which you can change the color of the gridlines. Unfortunately it also changes all the borders as well. Basically Im reformatting each page and I find the very light blue gridlines difficult to see. It does work while I'm in there doing the reformat and then can go back and change everything back to normal. But I would love to be able to have a darker gridline - while keeping the borders all the same.

Select the cells you want to format.

Home TAB

In the home tab is an icon for changing the BORDER and color of the border for the selected cells.
