Hi

Can anyone help me make my picture become a background in Excel 2007. I have copied the picture into Excel and managed to change the contrast of it to make it appear like a background. All i need now is to place the picture behind the text. When i right click it, it does not give me the option of placing the picture behind the text like a normal word document does. Please help!

Hi,

From Excel HELP - Watermark
HELP said:
Mimic a watermark in Excel
Watermark functionality is not available in Excel. If you want to display a graphic on every printed page (for example, to indicate that the information is confidential), you can insert the graphic in a header or footer. This way, the graphic appears behind the text, starting at the top or bottom of every page. You can also resize or scale it to fill the page.

On the View menu, click Header and Footer.
In the Page Setup dialog box, click Custom Header or Custom Footer.
Click in the Left section, Center section, or Right section box.
In the row of buttons in the Header or Footer dialog box, click Insert Picture and then find the graphic you want to insert.
Double-click the graphic to insert it in the header or footer section box.
To resize or scale the graphic, click Format Picture in the row of buttons in the Header or Footer dialog box and then, in the Format Picture dialog box, select the options you want on the Size tab.

Notes

Changes to the graphic or graphic format take place immediately and can't be undone.

If you want to add blank space above or below a graphic, click before or after &[Picture], and then press ENTER to start a new line.

To replace a graphic, select &[Picture], click Insert Picture , and then click Replace.
Before printing, make sure the header or footer margin allows enough space for the custom header or footer.

To delete a graphic, select &[Picture] and then press DELETE.

Thank you so much SkipVought, it did work but i am having a problem with my Print Preview. When in normal view it shows the picture in the background but when i am in print preview it shows the picture ontop of the text. Do you know what i can do?

duh! There it was in your Title. SORRY! [blush]

I inserted my pic in the HEADING Center.

I cannot see it in NORMAL or PAGE PREVIEW, but in PRINT PREVIEW, it is BEHIND the values on my sheet.

Ok so how do i resolve my problem as i am printing the worksheet and the picture is above the text. Is there any where of making it stay behind the text when i print it?

I'd try deleting the &[picture] and then inserting. Maybe try rebooting to get a clean copy of the application.

If you followed the help, it WILL work as advertised.

Is, perhaps, the FONT the same shade as the PIC?

No i have faded the picture in Adobe Photoshop so it has a cloudy circular outlook that makes it look more of a background picture (watermark).
