There's an excel file we heavily rely on here in the office. One of my users is having an issue where when she attempts to open it, it crashes excel immediately.
Here's what I've found out so far:
The file's name is JobDataFile
If I rename the file to anything else (eg. JobDataFileX) it will open without a problem. Doing a Save As JobDataFile from that point also saves without a problem. But then trying to open JobDataFile again crashes excel.
Moving the file out of the directory it's in allows her to open the file.
Any other account logged into her computer can open the file. Her account has local administrator rights as far as I can tell.
Copying the file to her desktop allows her to open the file.
The file is linked heavily to other excel files which is why I don't want to simply move it to another directory. It would require changing the links on every file that links to it.
I tried using Windows Washer with every option selected to try and clear any cache that might be affecting Excel to no avail.
Some other background info: Windows XP Pro on a 2k3 server environment. File is located on the server, not locally on her machine.
I'm out of ideas...
