Hi All,
Does anyone know if there is a "risky" size limit for Excel? I have a file that is 5 MG and I'm wondering if I'm "pushing the envelope" and living to dangerously....
Thanks in advance,
DON
All depends on what makes up the 5MB. Take a look at the following snippet from the following url:-
80MB sounds like a very large amount of formulae, but actually it represents somewhere between 40 thousand and 2 million formulae, which is a maximum of about 12% of a single worksheet. As an extreme case I created a test workbook with only 40000 formulae whose filesize is just over 3MB, but which exceeds the 80MB formula limit when saved and reopened. The workbook contains 200 worksheets, each containing 200 formulae, and the formulae link each sheet to every other sheet.
Charles has an excellent site to teach you all you could ever want to know about Excel's memory limits.
Yeh - sure I've seen him on the excel L list (Microsoft Excel Developers List [EXCEL-L@PEACH.EASE.LSOFT.COM])
Usually giving advice on making ss faster ;-)
