I have an excel file with several tabs. We will be uploading this to an intranet site as a read-only file. Data will be entered on the tab named "data". I want that "data" sheet to be hidden when the file is opened on the intranet (as read only), but not hidden when the excel file is opened for data entry.

Maybe a macro with hide upon closing & unhide upon opening?

Is it possible?

Thanks.
Martha

Hi,

Why not just hide it?

Use you macro recorder if you must have a macro.

We have several project managers that will be inputing the data. What I'm really worried about is having them remember to hide it before they close it.

Just trying to automate it so it is idiot proof. We do not want it to get updated on the intranet with the sheet unhidden. We will have many files and it would get cumbersome to check each one to make sure the file is hidden before it is updated.

I'll give the record a macro a shot with fingers crossed.

Thanks
Martha
