Excel 2000 - Copy/Paste Formula doesn't work 1

I am running Office 2000. When I copy and paste a formula in Excel, the formula comes out fine, but the value is pasted as well. The same thing occurs when I use paste special and select formulas only. For example,

In A6 I have a formula =SUM(A1:A5) and a value of 150

Copy/paste this to B6 I get =SUM(B1:B5) value 150

Even though the numbers in B1..5 add up to 12.

I've tried copy/paste using toolbar buttons and shortcut keys. I've tried paste special. Grrrrrr :-I

Easy solution: Use Tools - Options - Change Calulation to "Automatic"
