Took the exam today and failed. 66% out of the required 70%. Alot a questions on alternate and translated addresses, know How the inteface works (Web Interface for Metaframe XP Admin Guide, p. 22), know your ports of commo using secure gateway, Socks Proxy configs, DLL for SGW ticket validation, and web interface, know your cyphersuites(TSL/SSL).

Going back next week to retake. Will post results.

Alright, sat for the exam this morning and Passed!! 2 down 2 to go. I'm debating whether to sit for the Beta exams or not has anyone taken the beta exams?

If you used testking, make sure you verify all your answers with the citrix documentation!!!

Also if you can get a hold of a Metaframe CD's You can use them to install MF Presentation (trial), Secure Gateway (free), and STA Components (Free). I strongly suggest creating a Secure Gateway scenario..it will give you a better understanding of where and how the components fit into the big picture. You can get triall SSL certificates from Verisign and Thawte (Thawte wont have on of their representatives call you every month seeing if you are ready to purchase a certificate plus the trial period is longer than Verisign's)

Also Get a hold of the WebInterface PDF and Secure Gateway PDF from the citrix website and READ READ READ.

Now I will start researching for exam 992...

Nuttin to it but to do it!

I haven't taken a Citrix beta test in a while, but I HATED them when I did. If you think some of the questions that are on the real exam are bad, just think of all the questions that weren't good enought to make it....they're the one's on the beta exam.

Granted...things may have changed, but another reason I don't like the beta exams is the fact that you don't get your score right away. If you are updating your CCEA, then you may not get results back in time before the May deadline. If you are going for a fresh cert, then that's not an issue.

Good luck,

The main problem with the Beta exams is the sheer number of questions and the very short amount of time (relatively) in which to answer them. I think the last Beta I sat was 3 hours long and had 250 questions. Compare that to 40 questions in 60 minutes - or even 60 questions in 180 minutes.

You don't get your result immediately because one of the purposes of Beta exams is to establish the pass rate for the actual exam based on how everybody does overall.

A lot of the questions are naff, though - I must admit!
