hi,all

got a fully patch windows xp box infected with over 20 virus/spyware last week. i am using mcafee vs enterprise 8, adaware, hijackthis, spybot & destroy and spyguard. it looked like i got rid of them all but 3 keep coming back once i have IE open.

they are....

evkionbu.exe
polall1r.exe
set12.tmp

searching them on google didn't come up with anything.

anyone know what they are and why they keep coming back? help!

Sure sounds like spyware. Never used spyguard, it could be a legitimate program, or itself could be spyware. I have no idea what bug this might be, I would consider purchasing pest patrol, a much more throrough tool than ad-aware or spybot.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
 
how to prevent them from coming back?

These are your problem, have hiJackThis fix them.
 
Also these two:

THe second one gets no hits which is what makes me think it is bad.

I would also recommend deleting (aggressive approach) or renaming (conservative approach) the dll files.

Thank You very much. I deleted those BHO and been online for 5 hours now and nothing cames back!
