Facts:
NetBackup DC 4.5 w/sp5 on Windows 2000 server and client
Client is IBM NAS 226.

All worked well for a long time until recently. Now, every time after a backup starts the Veritas client eventually becomes useless when the 2 processors are pegged from "bpkar32" and "system" processes. Sometimes it gets up to 5 bpkar32 processes. Note: all 23 other clients have no issues. Has anyone else experienced this or anything similar? Any advice?

Thanks,
Scott

I found the problem. The Symantec antivirus software was scanning every file opened for backup. This caused the processor and kernel to be pegged endlessly and eventually doing what was mentioned earlier. I fixed this before, but the new method here for managing Symantec forces the machine to get settings from a primary server.
