every time I start my PC a program called quicken.exe tries to access the internet. I have Zone Alarm pro installed and it picks it up but I do not know how to stop it. Also my McAfee virus software keeps picking quicken.exe and another called editpad.exe in c:winnt but it will not clean them or delete them and I cannot delete them myself either. If anyone knows what to do whitout getting too techie please let me know.

Run adaware, then spyware, and then run cwshredder and then hijack this, and post the log if need be of hijack this on here. here's the links to the siftware. In another forum a poster suggested this.

You may have to delete a 'StartUp' entry AND an option in Quicken itself OR a registry edit (often, HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run) and (possibly) a Quicken option.
You're on your own with the latter

Download and run SpyBot.search & destroy Remove what it highlights in red.

CWshredder & hijack this

Quicken will access the internet if you have it setup that way (which it is by default).

I haven't set it up in any way, I don't even know what it is! Alot of people have said it is an account package but I have not installed anything like that on my machine?

The Quicken.Exe is part of the Quicken program that comes with some computers. If you don't register the program in a certain length of time, the program will try to go online to register for you. Go to "msconfig" > startup and uncheck anything to do with Quicken.
