This is a stupid question but i have an even viewer message
The device, \Device\Harddisk1\D, has a bad block.
but my setup is
primary
harddrive1 is c:
harddrive 2 is F:
secondary
cd burner is D:
DVD burner is E:

Does this mean my cd burner is giving the error or is it my hard drive. Im not sure.
Please let me know. I have run diags on the hard drive and its fine.
thanks

If all drives are working properly, then just ignore the message.

1 normally refers to the secondary IDE channel,so it's not your harddisk.

Harddisk 1 is normally C, so the \D has me a bit confused.

Do a scan of all hard drives - but don't allow auto repair and see if anything shows up.

If something does then I would recommend spinrite from grc.com

Don't let windows fix a bad segment or block - it always throws the data away!

I have run diags on both my hard drives and even ran the seagate hard drive scan and nothing
